6:30 PM Refreshments & LWV Greenwich Networking | 7:00 PM Presentation
It can feel like our country is more divided than ever — like compromise is impossible and real dialogue is a thing of the past. But what if that's not the whole story?
Join us for a thought provoking evening with Tyler Page, a University of Connecticut professor and former Silicon Valley marketing executive whose research reveals something surprising: people across the political spectrum share far more common values than the headlines suggest. The problem isn't that we disagree — it's that we've lost the tools to truly hear one another.
April 8th 6:30pm | Greenwich Town Hall
Distinguished Professor Lecture Series
"Women and the American Economy" with UConn Professor Natalia Smirnova
6:30 PM Refreshments & LWV Greenwich Networking | 7:00 PM Presentation
Every day, women make countless economic decisions—what to buy, where to spend, what to save, and what to support. But how often do we stop to ask: What informs the choices we make?
This talk will explore how women are influenced by economic systems as consumers, workers, investors, and voters. How do women’s purchasing decisions shape markets? How do economic policies affect women differently? And how can greater economic awareness lead to meaningful change—locally and nationally?
The program will challenge assumptions, spark conversation, and leave you looking at your own economic choices in a new light. Dr. Smirnova will address inflation and unemployment, labor force participation, the gender wage gap, and savings and retirement.
